Welcome
To The Golf Capital Of The World.
UPDATE: GOLF COURSE FEES
The Naples area, often
called the golf capital of the world, offers a variety of link
selections for golfers. There are a few common themes that are found at
most of the courses.
Next to beach sunsets, there are few places where the natural beauty of
Southwest Florida is more prominent than on many of the fine golf
courses. In most cases, the course architect has gone to great lengths
to preserve and emphasize the natural beauty of each site, and added to
the ambience with their own embellishments. Every major designer plus a
number of professional player designers have left their signature on at
least one area course, including Pete & P.B. Dye, Robert Trent Jones
Jr. & Sr., Robert Van Hagge, Arthur Hills, Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus,
Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, Gary Player, and many more.
Within the greater Naples/Bonita area, over 100 courses dot the
landscape, plus more in South Ft. Myers and in Marco. The large majority
of these are private, although the newer developments that are in the
real estate sales process often offer low-price, temporary memberships
during the first three or four years, or they simply allow public play
during that time to encourage sales. Since there are always new
developments in process, this provides a nice selection of course
opportunities for the person who does not have a full membership at a
local club.
Please note that membership types vary, but most clubs in the area have
a golf membership and some type of social membership. A golf member
typically enjoys full use of the club facilities on a year-round basis.
Social memberships usually have a full use of the dining, tennis,
fitness, and pool facilities, can play golf by paying greens fees from
May through October, and may even be able to play a few times during the
winter months. In the slower six months of the year, almost all of the
private clubs participate in reciprocal agreements that allow members to
play and dine at a selected list of other private clubs in the area,
allowing residents/members to experience a magnificent variety of
courses in the area.
Initiation fees are typically a one-time fee, with dues payable on an
annual or quarterly basis. Initiation fees are often partial equity,
indicating that the member would receive back part of their investment
if they were to discontinue their membership.
The following is a listing of golf club communities in the Naples/Bonita
Springs area, to assist you in locating one that may be appropriate. In
addition, there are additional courses in Marco and South Ft. Myers that
are within a reasonable driving distance for a round of golf. However,
we caution you not to make decisions based solely on this information.
